Photos app stuck at 'Updating Library 100% Complete' for going on 5 hours, after High Sierra upgrade. Option to Quit app is greyed out. Cannot use or access any app user interface or features. Just stuck on the last slide of the 'Have Fun With Photos' tour. Cannot restart MacBook because getting message: 'Cannot quit Photos while it is creating or opening a library' and then 'Photos interrupted restart.' Please advise. P.s. I DO NOT use iCloud Photo Library.

My photos library seems to be having issues. I had to restore my mac from a time machine back up recently. When i tried to open the photos app, it said that it needed to be repaired. It gets stuck at 99%. I’ve done some searches online and have found that sometimes it takes a few days for it to repair. I have had this thing going for way longer than that so i think something is. Dec 10, 2019 After a library repair, each photo is being verified against the iCloud library copy. This Apple support document 1 states: If you repair a library that's automatically updated with iCloud Photos, the entire contents of the library re-updates with iCloud after the repair. Just like a normal iCloud library upload, this can take a very long time.

El Cap also crashes my home Netgear router whenenver I try to access any menu items from any browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
